Grower and packer

Arenosa

Arenosa is run by Jan van Geffen and his son Sam. They were amongst the first farmers who settled in the Flevopolder, a reclaimed and very fertile part of Holland. Besides growing carrots, leeks and potatoes they have specialised in various lesser known vegetables such as black salsify, parsley root and Jerusalem artichoke.

These vegetables – in Holland they are sometimes called ‘forgotten vegetables’ – have become quite popular. Because of their suprising taste and novelty value they are popular with restaurants and box schemes. You will find them in quite a few supermarkets as well.  At Arenosa the products can be packed to order, sealed on tray’s for example.
